Nebraska Football season is finally here! What should Husker fans be watching for in Week 1?

It was a long hiatus, but the Nebraska Cornhuskers will finally be playing football this weekend! While the start of their season is an absolutely brutal one, Big Ten football is back and that’s a good thing for sure.

Nebraska likely is forced to play Ohio State in the first week of the season because of their actions this offseason. Scott Frost and the rest of the Nebraska football program threw a fit about the Big Ten not wanting to play, threatening to play outside of the conference if it came down to that.

Well, the Big Ten “rewarded” Nebraska by gifting them games against Ohio State and Wisconsin in their first two games of the 2020 season. Oof. It’s petty revenge, but I can’t say the Cornhuskers didn’t bring it upon themselves. While the rest of the conference were being good soldiers and waiting for things to get situated, Nebraska continued to throw a temper tantrum and now they’re being punished for it.

Even with all of that out there, it feels good to be writing about an upcoming Nebraska football game whether it’s one they can realistically win or not. Not even the biggest Husker fans are penciling in a Nebraska victory this Saturday, but there are other things we can keep an eye on, so let’s get to it.
