Sit of the Week: Carson Wentz, QB, Philadelphia Eagles

. Quarterback. Philadelphia Eagles. Carson Wentz. 11. player. 54

What is happening to Carson Wentz is an absolute travesty. His reputation and name is being ruined because he has had every single player around him on offense fall to the injury bug.

For a quick recap, he is missing his top three wide receivers, his starting running backs, both his starting and backup tight ends, and a grand total of five offensive linemen. That is almost unheard of. Despite this, Wentz has put up some decent fantasy games as well as kept the Eagles competitive. That will probably change this week.

You can only withstand so many injuries and be a functioning offense. Take into account that it is a quick turnaround for the team on Thursday night, and that could be a recipe for disaster. On paper, the Giants defense is an easy match-up. The Eagles are basically a squad of backup and practice squad players on offense, so even the worst defenses match-up well with them at the moment.

I fully believe that Wentz is a good quarterback stuck in a terrible situation. Good quarterbacks often find ways to win against bad teams, and he may well do that this week. I don’t expect the offensive numbers to be explosive for either team this week, so I am out on Wentz at quarterback for Week 7.
