Edwards-Helaire ran roughshod over the Bills

Clyde Edwards-Helaire showed on Monday why Mahomes wanted the Chiefs to draft him. The rookie out of LSU was on top form in Buffalo as he picked up 169 total yards, 161 of which were rushing. He did that off of 26 carries and was a penalty away from having his second touchdown of his rookie season.

The rookie running back has added to the already impressive weaponry at Mahomes’ disposal and his ability to fight for every yard has really helped the Chiefs when moving the chains this season. The youngster will have felt himself hard done by as this is the second week in a row he has had a touchdown ruled out for an offensive foul but he is showing why he can become so important.

While Edwards-Helaire has been a nice added element this season, he was quieter in Weeks 2-5, but he exploded in a big way in this game. The Bills had absolutely no answer when it came to stopping CEH and it’s why the Chiefs were able to continue handing the ball off to him.

With every carry Edwards-Helaire had, the Chiefs were able to chew some clock and at the end of the evening, that’s what helped get them their fifth win of the season. It was nice to see the LSU running back be the predominant reason why the Kansas City Chiefs won the ball game.

Hopefully this is only the first of many dominant outings for Clyde the Glyde.
