The Kansas City Chiefs play yet another Monday game. This time, it’s against the Buffalo Bills, and both teams are coming off their first loss.

Heading into Week 5, the match-up between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills in Week 6 was one many had circled on their calendar. While it’ll still be a competitive game, both teams suffered their first loss of the season in Week 5 and in strange fashion.

The Chiefs looked disinterested against the Raiders while the Bills got absolutely stifled by the Titans. In Buffalo’s defense, they did have to game plan for two teams essentially because of the Titans’ positive COVID-19 cases putting that game in jeopardy.

Now, however, both teams are ready to move past their Week 5 losses and get back in the win column. What should Chiefs fans be watching for this week as the team travels to Orchard Park for a date with the 4-1 Bills?

Bounce back for both sides of the ball

The biggest thing I’ll personally be keeping an eye on during Monday’s game is to see how both the offense and defense bounce back after last week’s game. The Chiefs were simply outplayed by a less talented Raiders team and while this team doesn’t tend to play bad games back-to-back, we need to see both units improve this week.

The offense needs to score on their first drive. The defense needs to have several big plays and key stops. And then, they need to continue to show that they’re better than that Week 5 loss. Losing to the Raiders isn’t the end of the world, but a loss to the Bills would put KC at a disadvantage in the playoff race because Buffalo could be vying for that No. 1 seed.

If the two units play sluggish two weeks in a row, I’ll become a little more concerned.
