What did we learn about the Las Vegas Raiders?

You’ll probably hear people crowning the Raiders all week long, but those same people don’t realistically think Las Vegas is better than the Chiefs. It was an impressive win by the Raiders, don’t get me wrong, but they were most definitely due for a win against their divisional foe after losing the last five games against KC.

The Raiders kept up with the Chiefs on offense and that’s a big part of what we learned about them in Week 5. Las Vegas’ offense has the potential to be really, really good when Josh Jacobs and Darren Waller are given the opportunity to make plays.

The defense also played well, especially in the second half. As suspect as the Raiders’ defense has been this year, they got the first interception of the year off of Patrick Mahomes and were able to slow him down. Not many teams have figured out how to do that.

This was a big win for the Raiders, but their problem since Jon Gruden has come to town is continuing to win big games. They tend to be in playoff contention near the halfway mark, but then get in their heads and falter down the stretch. Let’s see how they respond after this big win.

Next up: The Raiders have a bye week, but they’ll host the Buccaneers on Sunday night in Week 7.
