3. Charvarius Ward

Charvarius Ward was a pleasant surprise in both 2018 and 2019, but he’s had a tough go of it early on in 2020. For one, he broke his hand in Week 1 and has been in and out of action since then, but he got roasted on Sunday, especially on the long play down the field to Henry Ruggs.

It was obvious that Ward couldn’t keep up with Ruggs and that’s exactly why the Raiders drafted the speedster from Alabama. The Raiders used the Chiefs’ offensive game plan against them and did so nearly flawlessly.

The cornerback position has been a rocky one for the Chiefs so far with injuries occurring to both Ward and fourth round rookie L’Jarius Sneed, but Bashaud Breeland coming back this week gave fans hope for the position. Instead, Ward was getting cooked throughout the day and he definitely did not look like he was up for the challenge of facing the Raiders receivers.

2. Daniel Sorensen

It wasn’t a good day for Daniel Sorensen and this is something Chiefs fans have found themselves saying nearly weekly. Fans will always be grateful for Sorensen stopping that fake punt in the AFC Divisional Round, but it’s a new season now and we can’t keep living in that moment. He’s not a starting worthy safety in the NFL, but here he is starting games on defense week after week.

Sorensen’s game stats are pretty good – eight tackles and a quarterback hit – but he was not the right choice to have covering Darren Waller at any point in the game. Sorensen is a nice depth piece to have and he means a lot to this organization, but as far as talent actually goes, he shouldn’t be out there with the starters.
