The Kansas City Chiefs host the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at noon.

The rivalry between the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders has been pretty one sided recently, as the Chiefs have won five of the last six games against them and all four games since Patrick Mahomes has taken over at quarterback.

That being said, the games are played for a reason, so as long as there’s a game, the Raiders have a chance to upset the Chiefs, even with the lopsided rivalry. Let’s take a look at what Chiefs Kingdom should be watching for this weekend as the Raiders come to Arrowhead Stadium in Week 5.

Carr’s struggles at Arrowhead

The first thing I have to bring up is how comically bad Derek Carr has played at Arrowhead Stadium since he joined the league in 2014. He’s failed to secure a win in Kansas City to this point, going 0-6 on the road against the Chiefs. Not only that, but any time he has played a game at Arrowhead, he’s been really bad in every single one of those games.

The best performance Carr has had at Arrowhead was as a rookie in 2014 when he threw for 222 yards and a touchdown. Since then, he’s been able to top those stats and that’s with the league growing more into a passing league. It’s also worth noting that he’s played really bad Chiefs defenses during that time and still hasn’t surpassed 222 passing yards in Kansas City. Wild.

Carr has only played at Arrowhead during the winter time, so it’ll actually be warmer out when he does come to Kansas City. There will also be less fans in the stands this weekend when the Raiders do come to town, so maybe that will end up helping him.

Regardless of what his issue has been, let’s see if it continues this Sunday afternoon.
