Patrick Mahomes isn’t the frontrunner for MVP and that’s okay.

Were this a contest of the best player in football, it would not even be close and this would be just one of so  many articles heaping praise on Patrick Mahomes. Unfortunately this piece is to see who has had the best play on the field through four games into the season, and I am afraid at this point in time, that is not Mahomes.

Mahomes has broken some league records, but the records themselves are less a reflection of these first four games, and more a reflection of his entire career up to this point. So, if the season were to end now and an MVP must be named, he is actually in fourth place on this list, and my league MVP would be Russell Wilson.

Mahomes has two more months to prove the NFL wrong, but as mentioned earlier, the MVP award doesn’t always go to the best player, but rather who the hottest name was. Even if Mahomes doesn’t win NFL MVP, he is still the best at what he does and I wouldn’t trade him for any other quarterback on this list or anywhere else in the league.
