Kansas City Chiefs: Six star performances vs Patriots in Week 4
1. Taco Charlton
The top spot this week goes to Taco Charlton! Just like we all expected, right? Charlton was signed over the offseason after flaming out in both Dallas and Miami despite being a first round pick. Kansas City were gladly willing to give him another shot at proving he was worthy of that first round label and they reaped the benefits on Monday.
Charlton makes this list because of one particular play and you all know where I’m going with this. After the two teams traded punts to start the second half, New England got the ball back and was driving on their next possession. The Patriots made it all the way to the five-yard line of the Chiefs and looked like they were on their way to taking the lead, or at the very least tying it up.
Instead, Charlton made it a Taco Monday in Kansas City, sacking Hoyer and also stripping the football from his clutch. Ben Niemann jumped on the football and the Chiefs took over on offense, marching down the field on their next two possessions and finding the end zone both times.
So yes, the Charlton sack and fumble was huge because it prevented the Patriots from scoring, but it also gave the offense the ball back and from there, they scored and got their mojo back. Huge play by Charlton and one that this team desperately needed to secure a win. Way to go, Taco!

Five defensive players made the list this week and it was well deserved. The defense played incredible despite not having Chris Jones and made sure that the Patriots didn’t do much even if they were able to get deep in Chiefs territory.
Every single player who forced a turnover rightfully deserved a spot here, but I also went with Frank Clark because of his key sack on Hoyer that led to the Patriots not being able to add a field goal at the end of the half. If that doesn’t happen, who knows how things go for the duration of the game.
Kelce was the lone offensive player to make the list because he led the team in receiving yards and also had the big catch and run that lit a fire under the offense’s butts. That was a huge play in the moment because the offense hadn’t been able to get much going at that point and Kelce made it happen despite being well-covered by the Pats defense.
Who else stood out to you this week?
