3. Frank Clark

It was really hard to rank these top three players because they all had crucial plays that helped get the Chiefs the W. Frank Clark is up next and he had a monster game against the Patriots and that was needed, as Chris Jones didn’t suit up for this one.

Clark’s biggest moment in the game came on the final play at the end of the first half when he sacked Hoyer for a 13 yard loss. The sack itself would have been big enough, but this also prevented the Patriots from tacking on any points, as the time expired because Hoyer didn’t realize his team was out of timeouts. Eek.

Clark had that sack and also notched four tackles and three quarterback hits. He continues to be worth every penny of that contract Kansas City gave him after they acquired him in a trade. Never count out the shark.

2. Tyrann Mathieu

We just covered the shark and now we’re going to talk about the Honey Badger, who is someone who could make this list every week. He’s been a huge acquisition for the Chiefs and he showed why they were so excited to bring him in with his key pick six in the fourth quarter that put the game away.

There was still a lot of time left when Tyrann Mathieu took that ball the other way for an easy pick six, but this definitely put Chiefs fans at ease, as it was a 16-point game by then. With how well this defense had been playing, why would anyone have doubted their abilities to hold off the Pats?

Mathieu had four tackles, one defended pass, and of course, the interception taken the other way for six points. He truly is someone who’s everywhere on the field and can do anything the Chiefs need him to do.
