Will the linebackers continue to improve?

It’s no secret that the Chiefs linebackers have been the biggest weakness on the team, but they looked much improved against the Ravens this past week. The trio of Anthony Hitchens, Ben Niemann, and Damien Wilson hasn’t really wowed anyone and that makes it even more concerning why rookie Willie Gay hasn’t been able to find the field.

This past week, however, they looked good. Niemann had a sack, Hitchens had five tackles, and Wilson had four tackles. They were hitting the Ravens playmakers hard and for a short time, quieted the critics.

While it was an impressive performance by the Chiefs linebackers, can they replicate that performance this week against a shifty Patriots offense? They held their own against the best running quarterback in the league and now they’ll get another one in Cam Newton. Will they be able to contain Newton and the Patriots running backs? Or will this be another lackluster performance by the linebackers?

The Chiefs and Patriots have become rivals in recent years (even before Mahomes got to town) because they’ve both been at or near the top for quite some time. Even with the new-look of the Patriots, they still have the best head coach in the league and have proven they’re not going away just because they don’t have Brady at the helm anymore.

What will you be watching for in this game against New England?
