The Kansas City Chiefs return home to face the New England Patriots. How does Madden see this game playing out?

After dismantling the Ravens last week on Monday Night Football, the Kansas City Chiefs now host the new look New England Patriots and will hope to move to 4-0 on the young season. The Patriots are 2-1, having beaten the Dolphins and Raiders while losing to the Seahawks in the final seconds two weeks ago in primetime.

Before we dive into Madden’s projections for Chiefs/Patriots, let’s revisit its simulation for the Chiefs/Ravens game where it predicted the Chiefs would narrowly escape Baltimore with a 27-24 victory. We now know that the game was not that close and never really was.

Mahomes was projected to throw for 240 yards and three touchdowns and somehow those predictions seem laughable after what he actually did. CEH’s numbers were actually pretty on par to how he actually did on Monday night while Hill only found the end zone once. How did Madden NOT accurately predict Eric Fisher and Anthony Sherman having touchdowns? Come on, Madden, step it up.

Anyway, let’s now turn our attention to this week’s game and see how the video game thought Week 4’s battle would turn out.

Final Score: Chiefs 38, Patriots 24

CHIEFS STATS

PATRIOTS STATS

Madden thinks this game is going to be another blowout for the Chiefs, as the video game thinks KC will win by two touchdowns to move to 4-0 on the year. Even with that being the case, the Patriots put up points offensively with Newton throwing for nearly 300 yards and three touchdowns, but he’s limited to just 13 yards on the ground.

It looks like Edwards-Helaire is back to his Week 1 self with a big rushing performance and finding the end zone again. The Patriots look to struggle running the ball against KC and none of their receivers have particularly crazy days.

Mahomes spreads the ball out well again this week, connecting with Hill for two touchdowns, Watkins for one touchdown, and Kelce for a touchdown. Hardman has another big game too despite not finding the end zone.

Defensively, the Chiefs surrender 24 points, but Kpassagnon puts Newton on the ground and Ward has a key interception. Mahomes is projected to throw an interception, which would be his first of the season.

This score would be fine with Chiefs fans, but even with a new look on offense, the Patriots are still a well-coached football team and they’re going to put up a fight. Hopefully Madden is correct with its simulation!
