I said last week that people would overreact to the KC Chiefs’ week 2 struggles and I was right, but they proved that they belong in the Super Bowl contention category with their beatdown over the Ravens.

The Kansas City Chiefs heard the talk about them all week and constantly being labeled as the underdogs for their week 3 Monday night game against the Ravens. They used that as ammunition to absolutely destroy the Ravens both on offense and on defense.

The Ravens had been on fire in their first two games of the season, so for the Chiefs to march into Baltimore, and crush a team that many had penciled in as the AFC representative for the Super Bowl is a statement for sure.

I was obviously the most excited to watch the Chiefs and Ravens this week, but the Raiders and Patriots game intrigued me too. I was curious to see if the Raiders were actually a playoff contender or if their first two wins simply came against suspect defenses in the Panthers and the Saints.

While Vegas did make a game of it in the first half, mistakes sunk them and the Patriots won pretty handily when it was all said and done. Now the Chiefs will get to face the Patriots in week four, which should be a pretty fun match-up.

AFC WEST STANDINGS

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (3-0)
  2. Las Vegas Raiders (2-1)
  3. Los Angeles Chargers (1-2)
  4. Denver Broncos (0-3)

Week 4 Games

  • Broncos @ Jets – Thursday (7:25 CST)
  • Chargers @ Bucs – Sunday (12:00 CST)
  • Chiefs vs Patriots – Sunday (3:25 CST)
  • Raiders vs Bills – Sunday (3:25 CST)

Aside from that Broncos/Jets game, the rest of these match-ups are intriguing.
