3. Kansas City’s Aggressiveness

This is going to be a litmus test for both teams.

The Chiefs are looking to show the world that they are doing everything they can to defend their title, and the Ravens will be on a national stage looking to prove they are the real deal. The Ravens the last few years have been notably aggressive on third downs and taking deep shots, and it is obviously working for them, as they are 16-3 in their last 19 games.

Look for Kansas City to take this game very seriously. One loss won’t sink their season, sure, but this is going to be an important game as far as the conference standings go at the end of the season. I expect Kansas City to be firing on all cylinders, and that means deep shot, creative plays, and going for it on fourth down situations.

This is going to be a great game. Both teams will want to make a statement, and the Ravens are going to come out of the gate swinging. Not only will the Chiefs need to match that mentality, they are going to have to match the approach.

Andy Reid and company can’t afford not to be on their A game. They will pull out all of their stops here. If they don’t match the aggressiveness of the Ravens, they could fall behind and let Baltimore dictate the pace of the game.

This is a game I think Kansas City wins. I know it may sound like I am buying to much into the narrative, but Patrick Mahomes is the ultimate competitor. He may have nothing personal against Lamar Jackson, but Mahomes knows he is the man, and wants everyone else to know it as well.

The Kansas City Chiefs are going to come out of the gates fast, scoring blazing fast and control how the game unfolds, much like they did last year. Give me Kansas City to win 35-24.
