Kansas City Chiefs: 3 things to watch vs Ravens in Week 3
By Kole Berrey
We are two weeks into the NFL season and the Kansas City Chiefs have come through the other side unscathed.
The Kansas City Chiefs were able to outlast division rival, the Chargers, in an overtime win. They won on the back, or rather the foot, of their young kicker Harrison Butker, who made 3/3 field goals, including two 58 yard kicks, to keep the Chiefs undefeated on the young season.
The game may not have been pretty, and eeking out close wins against presumed bad teams can cause some nerves among the fanbase.
Those nerves would usually be forgotten by the time the week ends, but the Chiefs aren’t playing just any old team this Monday. They get to take on the reigning #1 AFC seed and current favorite to win the conference, as Kansas City will be traveling to Baltimore to take on the Ravens on Monday Night Football.
I know some of you are worried, but go ahead a take a page out of the book of Aaron Rodgers and R-E-L-A-X. The truth of the matter is sometimes, elite teams in the NFL just do not play well. That was the case for the Chiefs, who went up against a stout defense and struggled to find their rhythm. This list of defenders who didn’t finish the game on Sunday also probably played a part in the team not looking up to snuff.
Go ahead and take a peek at that list, and try to find a player who isn’t a starter or at least consistent rotational contributor. Find anyone? No. You didn’t.
To top it off, Frank Clark also left early with the illness, and played less than half of the teams defensive snaps. I don’t care if you are the ’85 Bears, you lose that many players, you are going to struggle. So breathe Chiefs fans. This game is going to live up to its billing. Sit back, relax, and watch for these three things during Chiefs-Ravens.
