2. Mecole Hardman

With Sammy Watkins taking an incredibly hard hit last week, he’s probably not going to suit up for week 3 and that means it’ll be time for Mecole Hardman to step up. Hardman hasn’t done a ton in the offense so far this season, but we’re only two weeks in.

Hardman was also more of a special teams player during his rookie year and that’s looked to be the case again so far this year. He did have the clutch two-point conversion catch that tied the game at 17 points in the fourth quarter.

Hardman has had just three receptions for 36 yards through two games. He thrived against the Ravens last year, grabbing two catches for 97 yards and finding the end zone as well. It’d be great to see Hardman replicate that success against Baltimore in this game, especially if Watkins isn’t able to go.

Not having Watkins in the fold will open up the targets for Hardman on Monday night and it’d be nice to see him get more involved in the offense.

1. Mike Pennel

The Chiefs were hit with some bad news prior to the season, which was that Mike Pennel was going to serve a two-game suspension to start the year. The Chiefs were elated to re-sign Pennel to a one-year contract after how much he helped their run defense in their Super Bowl winning season and now they’ll get that man back in the defensive scheme.

The Chiefs were gashed by the run in Los Angeles and the Ravens are obviously known for how well they run the ball. Pennel will help shore up that defensive line and hopefully be the key to slowing down that Baltimore rushing attack.

It’d be nice to see the Pennel of last season step right into the lineup and make a difference, but no matter what happens, I’ll be definitely watching to see how much of an impact Pennel does make in his return.
