The Kansas City Chiefs are 1-0 to start the Run It Back tour after taking down the Texans by a score of 34-20. Who were the 3 players who stood out the most in this double digit win?

We all knew the Kansas City Chiefs would dazzle on Thursday night and we’d see the usual stars making plays, but we got to see just about everyone shine in this one. There were 3 players in particular who stood out, however, so let’s give those players their time in the spotlight.

3. Kelechi Osemele

Offensive linemen aren’t always the most exciting players to watch, but for those who happened to be watching Kelechi Osemele in this game, they were probably very impressed by the Chiefs free agent. Osemele was signed over the summer and this actually happened prior to Laurent Duvernay-Tardif opting out of the season.

Once LDT made the decision to opt out, it sealed the deal that Osemele would be starting along the offensive line and it made perfect sense to slot him in at left guard, which has been a position of weakness for the Chiefs for several years now. If Osemele can provide some stability there, that’d be incredible.

Osemele was once an All-Pro guard for the Raiders, but had a rough 2019 with the Jets organization. That led to him getting released by them and the Chiefs were fortunate to be able to scoop him up in free agency this summer.

He’s a perfect fit for this offensive line and we saw Osemele and Eric Fisher build good chemistry on the left side of the line, as Patrick Mahomes went virtually untouched. He was only sacked once and it actually came as a result of Mitchell Schwartz missing a block (a rarity for sure).

If this game is any indication as to how Osemele will be at left guard for the Chiefs this year, fans should feel very, very confident in this offensive line moving forward.
