The Kansas City Chiefs kick off their 2020 season on Thursday night against the Houston Texans. What did Madden predict for this game?

The Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs host the Houston Texans in the first NFL game of the season with the Texans coming to Arrowhead Stadium for what should be a fun game.

It’ll be the first time these two teams have played each other since the AFC Divisional Round earlier this year where the Chiefs got down 24-0 early on and then won it 51-31. Don’t think the Texans won’t remember the feeling of that blowout loss and they’re going to do everything they can to come into Arrowhead and shock the defending champs.

How does Madden see this game going? Let’s take a look at the score and stats.

Final Score: Kansas City Chiefs 20, Houston Texans 26 (OT)

TEXANS STATS

Unfortunately Madden thinks the Chiefs will lose their first game of the year in overtime. In fact, the video game predicted the Texans to get the ball first in overtime, march down the field, and score a touchdown to shock the champs in their own stadium.

While anything can happen on any given day in sports, it does feel like this result won’t be one that comes to fruition. It’ll be a close game, sure, but it’s hard to picture the Chiefs defense getting five sacks on Watson and still somehow losing the game. If they get five sacks on the Texans signal caller, they should win this game pretty handily.

You know Mahomes is good when the stats listed here would actually be disappointing. Sure, he’d have thrown for over 300 yards, but the two interceptions would be eyesores on the stats sheets.

It does look like Mahomes is looking Kelce’s way often, as the Chiefs tight end is projected to have a MONSTER game against a struggling Texans defense. Again, if Kelce goes for over 170 yards on the day, it’s hard to see this Chiefs team losing, but hey – New season, new team.

Hopefully Madden is wrong with its latest prediction and the Kansas City Chiefs can begin the year with a 1-0 record!
