Week 3 – Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens (Chris)

Mahomes and the Chiefs versus Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens could very well turn out to be one of the more storied NFL rivalries in the years to come. Mahomes currently sits at 2-0 versus Jackson, but that streak could change Week 3 on Monday Night Football.

The Monday Night Football stage will be set with two AFC powerhouses looking to gain postseason superiority early in the season. This will be a great matchup as both rosters stayed mostly intact from last season to this season.

With smaller crowds in attendance this year, it’ll be interesting to see how much that affects home-field advantage. The Ravens have gone 0-2 over the last few seasons in Arrowhead, so playing in Baltimore could be their chance to hand the Chiefs a loss.

Thankfully, a loss in Week 3 won’t dictate the Chiefs’ odds to beat them in the playoffs. A loss to a strong AFC contender early in the season could keep the Chiefs humble as they journey toward a second straight Super Bowl.

Prediction: Jackson knows that to be the best you have to beat the best, so he’ll be plenty motivated. The Ravens’ defense will be stingy in addition to Marquise Brown taking advantage of a shaky Chiefs’ secondary – Ravens 27, Chiefs 17

Player to pop: Despite the loss, Chiefs rookie linebacker Willie Gay has a day with two tackles for loss and doesn’t allow a completed pass to a tight end while in coverage.

RECORD: 2-1
