Week 1 – Kansas City Chiefs vs Houston Texans (Leigh)

After falling into a 24-0 hole against the Texans in the AFC Divisional Round earlier this year, the Chiefs bounced back in a big way and ended up winning the game 51-31. They were the first team to be on the losing end of a blowout to then go on and blowout the other team. Incredible.

The Texans are definitely still stinging from that loss and they’ll have a chance to redeem themselves when they travel to Arrowhead Stadium for the first game of the entire NFL season. It’ll be banner night at Arrowhead (even with less people present), so that stadium is going to be rocking.

It’s rare for the defending Super Bowl champion to lose at home to start the season (with the Chiefs being the only team ever to flip the script, as they knocked the Patriots down a few pegs to start the 2017 season) and the Chiefs are just a much better team than the Texans. They have coaching advantage by a long shot, the quarterback advantage is close, but Mahomes takes the cake, and their defense is better.

Get ready to start the season 1-0, Chiefs Kingdom!

Prediction: This game might be close for the first half, but the Chiefs will breakaway after half time. Chiefs win 38-21.

Player to Pop: Welcome to the pros Clyde Edwards-Helaire! The rookie running back rushes for over 120 yards and has two total touchdowns on the evening.

RECORD: 1-0
