The latest Chiefs news revolves around the organization signing both Andy Reid and Brett Veach to contracts keeping them in Kansas City through 2025.

The Kansas City Chiefs had made it a point this offseason to make sure that anyone who played a major hand in getting the team their first Super Bowl title in 50 years gets taken care of. The latest example of this is the franchise inking both Andy Reid and Brett Veach to contracts that will keep them tied to Kansas City through 2025.

This isn’t a shocking move, as both men have played a HUGE part in the team’s success in recent years and a Super Bowl title isn’t possible without either of them. It’s smart of the Chiefs to go ahead and get these deals done now.

Tom Pelissero tweeted the news on Monday evening.

Reid was the first to join the Chiefs and it happened after he was fired by the Eagles despite spending 14 years at the helm there. The Chiefs pounced on the opportunity to hire Reid as their head coach and he immediately turned around an organization that went just 2-14 the previous year.

Since taking over, Reid has led the Chiefs to a regular season record of 77-35 and, more importantly, got the franchise their first Super Bowl title in five decades.

Veach also was a big part of helping the Chiefs turn things around. He took over as the general manager in 2017 after the team surprisingly parted ways with John Dorsey.

Fans were shocked when Dorsey was let go due to the success the team had had with him making the decisions, but after seeing Dorsey crash and burn in Cleveland and seeing what this team did under Veach’s control, the franchise made the right decision.

Nice work by the Kansas City Chiefs on getting this deal done when they didn’t even have to. It’s crazy to imagine how different this organization could look right now had they not been aggressive when they pursued Reid or had they not shocked everyone by cutting ties with Dorsey and then bringing Veach in.

Both men have been a huge factor in why the Kansas City Chiefs are now a winning organization and Chiefs Kingdom should be thrilled at these two getting extended for another six years.
