The Kansas City Chiefs are set to host the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football to begin the 2020 season. Now is the perfect time to rank the team’s 13 opponents for the 2020 season.
This upcoming season, the Kansas City Chiefs will, of course, face each divisional opponent twice while also facing the four NFC South teams and four AFC East teams. Thrown in the mix, too, are the two other AFC teams that won their divisions in 2019: the Texans and Baltimore Ravens.
Add it up, and that’s 13 different opponents for the Chiefs.
While making these rankings, which went through several different drafts, I made an effort to look at these teams independently. So, I didn’t consider when on the schedule the Chiefs play any of the teams nor did I consider where the game will be played.
Let’s start at the bottom with the three “worst” teams on the Chiefs’ schedule. This being the NFL, though, with the mantra any given Sunday, beating these teams won’t be a given for Kansas City. Still, to successfully “run it back,” the Chiefs need to easily handle this first group.
