Fantasy Football: Top 15 rookies to target in 2020
By Shade Piper
Fantasy Football Rookies to Target – Number 10: Jalen Reagor
Jalen Reagor has a lot of potential this year and also has a few outside factors that could benefit his fantasy value in a huge way. We know the Eagles have a solid core of tight ends, but outside of that their pass catchers are a big question mark.
Alshon Jeffery will probably miss some time to start the season and a suspension for DeSean Jackson is likely still on the table. This could lead to an early season boost in Reagor’s fantasy value.
If he can get off to a hot start and gain some quality chemistry with Carson Wentz, he certainly has the skill set to be one of Wentz’s go-to targets moving forward throughout the whole season.
Fantasy Football Rookies to Target – Number 9: D’Andre Swift
D’Andre Swift is being overvalued a little bit in fantasy currently, but that doesn’t mean he won’t have any value. The Lions spent a high draft pick on him for a reason and he was considered to be the best running back in the draft by many, so he’s going to have a role.
Kerryon Johnson is also a very talented running back, however, so it’s hard to see Swift getting anywhere near a workhorse load and typically running back by committees are something that I recommend staying away from.
Johnson’s injury history has been well documented over the first two years of his carrier though, so a Johnson injury leading to a big role for Swift can’t be ruled out. Swift does have some stand alone value, but it would take an injury to Johnson to give him great fantasy value.
Fantasy Football Rookies to Target – Number 8: Justin Jefferson
While not quite the route technician that Stefon Diggs is, there’s still a huge hole in the Minnesota offense that Justin Jefferson should fit nicely into. The 94-reception, 1,130-yard, 6-touchdown hole created by the absence of Diggs gives Jefferson a ton of upside.
Now, he shouldn’t be expected to come near Diggs’ stat line from last season, but Minnesota has supported two fantasy relevant wide receivers pretty well over the past few seasons. It is very easy to see Jefferson producing a WR3-type season in 2020 if he catches on quickly.
