Fantasy Football: Top 15 rookies to target in 2020
By Shade Piper
In the continuing of our KC Kingdom fantasy football series, let’s take a look at some rookies to target this season.
Recently at KC Kingdom, we looked at running backs, quarterbacks, tight ends, sleepers, and defenses/special teams to target in fantasy football this season. We will look at some of the best rookie options here.
Rookies are exciting and, because of this, often get over drafted in fantasy. However, this season it does seem like there are quite a bit of rookie talent that could result in some valuable first year fantasy options.
A lot of these rookies are just guys to take late round fliers on, so just make sure you aren’t overpaying for them just based off of excitement. You will find, however, that there are a few rookie options this season that you should feel decent about spending mid to high draft capital on.
So without further ado, let’s get into it. The top 15 rookies to target for your fantasy squads in 2020.
Fantasy Football Rookies to Target – Number 15: Zack Moss
Zack Moss isn’t a rookie that possesses huge upside this season, but he was drafted to fill the Frank Gore role. This could mean a lot of goal line work, making him a touchdown dependent option in very deep leagues.
Moss has a lot of talent though, so he is also one of the better handcuffs in the league. If something were to happen to Devin Singletary, Moss would immediately jump in RB2 territory and possibly with even a low-end RB1 upside.
Moss will likely be undrafted in most leagues, but if you drafted Singletary, this could be a good late-round stash target for you.
Fantasy Football Rookies to Target – Number 14: Antonio Gibson
Antonio Gibson comes into the league as a part of a very crowded backfield. However, in a PPR based league, Gibson could still hold some value. He is currently projected to be used as a hybrid running back-wide receiver and that brings a lot of excitement for fantasy purposes.
If he is able to come away with the third down back role plus add in some slot work, he could have tremendous upside. Gibson’s versatility makes him a very exciting player, which may lead to him being over drafted in some fantasy leagues if isn’t able to carve out a significant role, so just be smart with where you decide to target him.
More than likely, he’s just a late round flyer pick to stash, but his hybrid role could be very exciting.
