Ranking Every Quarterback in 2020 – Number 5: Matt Ryan

Quarterback. Atlanta Falcons. Matt Ryan. 5. player. 44.

The last time the Chiefs played the Falcons in the regular season, Matt Ryan was leading the league’s best offense and somehow KC was able to come out of that game with a win. While the teams have essentially flipped roles now, Ryan is still playing at a high-level.

Last year saw Ryan miss a game for the first time in his career since 2009, but he was still his same old self. He threw for 4,466 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 14 picks, showing he can still air the ball out, but also proving that he’s more susceptible to turnovers these days.

The Falcons have a lot of talent on offense including Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley, so just because Ryan is getting older doesn’t mean he should be counted out. If Atlanta clicks from day one, they’ll be a really tough opponent and that’s why I have Ryan ranked in my top five here.

The Chiefs host Matt Ryan and his Dirty Birds in week 16 of the regular season and by that point, playoff berths will most certainly be on the line.
