Fantasy Football Running Backs to Target – Number 9: Josh Jacobs

28. . Running Back. Las Vegas Raiders. Josh Jacobs. 9. player

For Josh Jacobs, coming into this season with a year of experience an increase in production should be expected. Also hopefully he is able to play in 16 games this season, which will also help his production.

Jacobs could see an improvement in his rushing game, but for the purposes of this article, his rushing stats from his 13 games last season were just extrapolated out to 16 games. This brought his totals on the ground to 1415 yards and 9 touchdowns.

The biggest room for growth with Jacobs is in the receiving game. I’m predicting that he doubles his receptions, bringing his total to 40  and his reception yards will in turn get a bump too. I think he gets to around 300 receiving yards (similar to Mixon in years past) and grabs an additional touchdown through the air as well, bringing his total touchdowns to 10.

This should put Jacobs at around 257.5 fantasy points in half-point PPR leagues if he plays in all 16 games. If Jacobs is able to make considerable improvements in the passing game, he will have a high floor and also a very high ceiling in 2020.

Fantasy Football Running Backs to Target – Number 8: Dalvin Cook

Running Back. Minnesota Vikings. Dalvin Cook. 8. player. 60.

Dalvin Cook had a pretty typical Dalvin Cook season last year and because of his injury history, it is hard to predict his stats. For these reasons, I am just going to assume he finishes somewhere around his 265.9 fantasy points again this season.

He finished in the top three in points per game last season, so if he is able to stay on the field for 16 games he has tremendous upside, but don’t count on it. He has a significant injury history, so he definitely comes with a lot of risk, but if you can stomach that risk, he could bring a huge upside to your fantasy squad.

Sometimes, however, the best ability is availability. For that reason, this could be a player to avoid because he will likely cost some high draft capital.

Whether this is a player you would consider drafting or not, his talent is undeniable so number eight seems like a fair ranking for him with hopes of him playing at least most of the season.
