Fantasy Football: Top 15 quarterbacks to target in 2020
By Shade Piper
Let’s take a look at the top 15 quarterbacks to target for this fantasy football season.
Recently at KC Kingdom, we looked at tight ends, sleepers, and defenses/special teams to target in fantasy football this season. We are now getting into some of the more fun positions and will look at some of the best quarterback options here.
Quarterback is the most important position in football, but unfortunately, in most fantasy football leagues, it is not as important in the fantasy world as it is in real life.
This is why two quarterback leagues are the way to go, but that’s a topic for a different day. Regardless of how important the quarterback position is in your league, this list should still be of some benefit to you.
Fantasy Football Quarterbacks to Target – Number 15: Baker Mayfield
Baker Mayfield burned a bunch of people last season in fantasy. In my personal quarterback rankings, for example, I had him in the top five and we all know how that turned out.
At this point, it is kind of hard to know what to expect with Mayfield. In his rookie season, he looked to be an elite quarterback option going forward and then last season he flopped despite having arguably the best receiving weapons in the league.
It didn’t work last year, but he does still have one of the best wide receiver duos in the league and now has one of the best tight end duos as well. The weapons are there and they give him maybe the most upside of anyone outside of the top five of these rankings.
However, as we saw last season, elite weapons aren’t everything. Tread lightly with Mayfield, but if you’re a fantasy owner who likes to wait on a quarterback, this is a guy you could get late in drafts who boasts loads of upside.
Just don’t over pay for him this year as many fantasy owners did last season.
