Most Underrated Kansas City Chiefs – Number 4: Rashad Fenton

All offseason long, there have been articles surfacing about how the biggest secret on the Chiefs roster is Rashad Fenton, who was their sixth round pick in 2019 out of South Carolina.

No one had high expectations for Fenton because sixth round picks are very hit or miss and more often than not, they miss. Fenton, however, saw a lot of playing time last season and will have an increased role in 2020, especially if Bashaud Breeland misses time to start the season.

At this point, Fenton isn’t underrated in my eyes, but there are still some fans who don’t really see him adding much to the team in 2020 despite really stepping up and standing out as a rookie on an eventual Super Bowl winning team.

Most Underrated Kansas City Chiefs – Number 3: DeAndre Washington

The Chiefs didn’t make a ton of huge free agent signings this offseason, but one of the names they did bring in was running back DeAndre Washington, formerly of the Oakland Raiders. Washington spent four years with the Raiders and now joins his former Texas Tech teammate Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City.

Washington put up respectable numbers during his time in the Black Hole and had three rushing touchdowns last season. He won’t be a starter for the Chiefs, but now that Damien Williams won’t be taking the field, Washington has a chance to be the RB2 behind rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire where he should be able to do some serious damage.

The backup running back job is an intriguing one, but Washington has as good a chance as anyone on that roster to win the job due to his past experience and he’s definitely an underrated name heading into the season.
