Patrick Mahomes is fortunate to have some spectacular weapons at his disposal on the KC Chiefs roster. Who are the five best?

Patrick Mahomes would be good no matter what, but it helps that the Kansas City Chiefs armed him with some tremendous targets. This has obviously helped the Chiefs become an NFL powerhouse and played a huge role in them winning their first Super Bowl since the 1969 season.

So, let’s take a look at Mahomes’ top five targets heading into the 2020 season.

Top Five Targets for Patrick Mahomes – Number 5: Clyde Edwards-Helaire

It’s very possible that a year from now Clyde Edwards-Helaire is much higher on this list, but since he’s going into his rookie year, we haven’t had a chance to see what he can do in this offense just yet.

More than likely, Edwards-Helaire will jump right in and it’ll feel like he’s always been a part of this team. He accounted for 1,867 yards from scrimmage last year in LSU’s National Championship season and there’s a reason the Chiefs took him in the first round of the draft.

With Damien Williams opting out, Edwards-Helaire is the unquestioned RB1 and will give the Chiefs the elusive running back they’ve been missing since Kareem Hunt was released.

At best, Clyde Edwards-Helaire jumps up on this list between now and next year. It’s hard to see him not being ranked in the top five next year, but we’ll have to see what happens.
