Fantasy Football: Top 15 sleepers to target in 2020
By Kole Berrey
Fantasy football sleepers are the players you didn’t expect to be so impactful. Who should you be targeting as sleepers in your draft?
Fantasy football is almost upon us, but this year brings new challenges and obstacles that fantasy players have never seen before. In the new world of COVID-19, players can suddenly be in an out of lineups in an instant, which means names that usually don’t hold a lot of value could be thrust into the spotlight for a few weeks, only to never be seen again.
Usually with my sleeper targets, I like to find values based on a players ADP (average draft position) and project the players who could have a huge breakout and return on your draft investment, so to speak.
Getting a wide receiver in the seventh round that finishes in the top 10 would be an example of a sleeper pick I usually look at.
This time, however, I am doing something a little different; Depth is going to be more important this year than ever in fantasy, so along with the players who have a chance to break out, I am going to highlight some veteran players who may not have as big of a ceiling, but can bring consistency to you in a pinch if one of your stars gets placed on the COVID list.
As a disclaimer, this list is based on 10 team leagues that are PPR based. All my fantasy numbers are going to be coming from fantasypros.com and all of my raw statistics are going to be coming from profootballreference.com.
I am also going to try to avoid big name players here, with the exception of a few players who are slipping to far in drafts. I am going to try to not go too deep here, however, as I am also working on a deep sleeper list for those who want to go even deeper on players with almost no national hype that could be a steal in drafts.
Without further ado, let’s get right into my top 15 sleepers for 2020.
