These three members of the KC Chiefs have managed to stay on the roster despite limited results on the field.

It’s hard work trying to stay on an NFL roster, but these three Kansas City Chiefs have managed not only to do just that, but to do so with a team who is coming off a Super Bowl victory!

Let’s take a look at the three who have managed to stick around.

KC Chiefs Surprisingly Still on Roster – Number 3: Deon Yelder

The Chiefs finally went out and got some actual reliable depth behind Travis Kelce on the depth chart this year, signing Ricky Seals-Jones to a one-year deal. Prior to that, there wasn’t much behind Kelce, but somehow Deon Yelder is still hanging around the team.

Yelder, an undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky, joined the Chiefs in 2018 and appeared in three games that year. He had zero targets in those three games.

In 2019, Yelder appeared in nine games and even started one! He was targeted four times and caught three passes for 50 yards.

With Seals-Jones now on the roster, it’s doubtful that Yelder really sees any meaningful playing time, but the fact that he started a game last year and can serve as a TE3 is what has kept him around. Still, it’s interesting that he’s done so little, but has managed to stay on the roster.
