Fantasy Football Defenses/Special Teams to Target – Number 8: Vikings

Minnesota Vikings. 8. player. 60. . D/ST. Minnesota Vikings

When it came to takeaways last season, only three teams had more than the Minnesota Vikings. They proved they can take the ball away from opponents and were also a top five team in sacks, posting 48 on the year.

So if the Vikings were this good a year ago, why are they only eighth on this list and not in the top five? Well, that’s because they lost a lot of talent this offseason. Everson Griffen and Linval Joseph took their talents elsewhere (well Griffen is still a free agent, but it isn’t looking like he’ll return) and the Vikings lost all of their cornerback depth.

Even with all of those offseason departures, Minnesota’s defense is still going to be a force to be reckoned with. They added Michael Pierce in free agency, who will help a ton, and they’ll continue to be a good defensive unit.

Look to target the Vikings in the seventh or eighth round and plan to insert them in your starting lineup.
