Fantasy Football Defenses/Special Teams to Target – Number 2: Steelers

D/ST. Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh Steelers. 2. player. 55.

It says a lot about the 2019 Pittsburgh Steelers that they almost made the playoffs with a guy named Duck Hodges quarterbacking the offense. The reason they got to that point was because of their defense, which kicked butt and took names throughout the season.

It’s going to be the same story for the Steelers again in 2020 because they were fortunate to hold onto everyone from their 2019 squad. That means they’re going to continue to wreck havoc on offenses.

Pittsburgh finished the 2019 season as the leader in both turnovers and sacks, so that same defensive unit is going to be running the show again in the Steel City. T.J. Watt leads the way for the Steelers, but with names like Minkah Fitzpatrick and Cameron Heyward also returning, the Steelers are a defense that fantasy owners should look to target incredibly early on.

Some defenses are worth taking an early round selection on and the Steelers fall into that category. You may have to reach for them around the fifth round, but it’ll be worth it.
