Chiefs news revolves around how the Kansas City Chiefs have inked Chris Jones to a four-year deal worth $85 million. The band stays together!

Winning a Super Bowl is great, but sometimes it can be the beginning of the end for some teams. It makes it tougher to keep top notch players and it’s really difficult for teams to repeat as champions, which is why it hasn’t been done since 2003-2004 when the Patriots pulled off that feat.

With the Kansas City Chiefs‘ decision to re-sign Chris Jones and keep him on the roster for 2020 and beyond, it puts the team in prime position to become the next NFL dynasty.

The team only lost two significant starters this offseason (Kendall Fuller and Reggie Ragland) while retaining everyone else. They signed both Jones and Patrick Mahomes to big contracts, but at the same time, look to have enough money to continue to bring in key players when needed.

Brett Veach has done a bang up job since taking over as the Chiefs General Manager and this recent signing has proven just that.

"I’m surprised this deal got done. However, with the unique structure of the Patrick Mahomes’ contract, the opportunity to get a deal done here became more plausible."

With Jones and Mahomes now in Kansas City for at least the next four years (and Mahomes for longer), the Chiefs have a legitimate chance to win a few more titles.

They have big names like Frank Clark, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Tyrann Mathieu signed for several more years and while they’ll likely lose Sammy Watkins after this season, replacing him shouldn’t be a difficult task, as a lot of receivers dream of catching passes from Mahomes.

Chiefs fans waited a lifetime to see their team win a Super Bowl and it finally happened this year! Mahomes and Jones played huge roles in that coming to fruition and the hope is that now that they’re locked up for even longer, the Kansas City Chiefs can be on their way toward becoming the next great NFL dynasty.
