The KC Chiefs were able to put together a defense in 2019 that ultimately helped to put them over the top. These three x-factors could help them to become a revered unit in 2020.

There have been many times over the years where the Kansas City Chiefs fielded either a great offense or a great defense, but couldn’t quite put them together at the same time.

Thankfully, that changed in 2019.

Paired with a lethal offense, they were able to put together a defense that was sufficient enough to help bring home a Lombardi Trophy. Even though they improved much from 2018, there will still be a lot to improve on from the 2019 season.

The arrival of defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and the signing of some big-time defensive free agents gave them what they needed to get it done. It’s exciting to see what Spagnuolo and his talented roster of defenders will do in year two.

This could very well give Kansas City the opportunity to field both a top-tier offense and defense moving forward. If they’re going have an elite defense in 2020, it’ll take these potential x-factors to make it happen.
