Kansas City Chiefs: Four players who could revive career in 2020
These four Kansas City Chiefs need to show something in 2020 in order to salvage their careers.
At one time or another, there’s potential for every player on an NFL roster. Whether they’re a young player and just haven’t found their footing yet or were once a top tier player, but have faltered recently, there’s always a chance for players to revive their careers.
Here are four members of the Kansas City Chiefs who could revive their careers in 2020.
Kansas City Chiefs who could revive career – Number 4: Andrew Wylie
After going undrafted in 2017, Andrew Wylie was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Chiefs. He won the Mack Lee Hill Award in 2018, which is given to the best first year player due to his efforts along the Chiefs’ offensive line. He played in all 16 games that year and started ten of them.
As good as 2018 went for Wylie, 2019 was a whole other story. He started 11 games at left guard, but was nowhere near as efficient as he was during the course of his “rookie” season. Wylie was eventually injured and never won his job back, getting replaced by free agent signing Stefen Wisniewski, who held the left guard job all the way through the Super Bowl.
With Wisniewski off to Pittsburgh, however, there’s a good chance Wylie gets his job back at left guard and can work on holding it down there. He’ll have to fight off veteran free agent Mike Remmer and third round rookie Lucas Niang, but if Wylie does a decent enough job, he most definitely has a chance to revive his career in 2020.
