The KC Chiefs are fortunate to have one of the best pass rushing duos in the league with Chris Jones and Frank Clark.

After coming so close to making it to the Super Bowl in the 2018 season, the Kansas City Chiefs added Frank Clark to their defense in the hopes that their defense would take the next step.

Spoiler alert: It worked.

Clark, paired with 2016 second round pick Chris Jones, helped the Chiefs defense tremendously, as the two totaled 17 sacks in 2019 en route to the Chiefs making it to – and winning – their first Super Bowl in 50 years. It’s only fair that the two make Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report’s list of scariest pass-rushing duos, coming in at fifth on the list.

More from Chris Jones News

"Since 2018, Jones and Clark have put offensive lines on notice, ranking sixth and tied for 11th, respectively, in sacks. The two pass-rushers registered 27 quarterback pressures apiece last year."

It’s possible that the Chiefs won’t have Jones this year if they decide to trade him, but in all likelihood he’ll either get a long-term deal or be slapped with the franchise tag. Hopefully he gets one final season as a Chief because watching him and Clark wreck havoc on opposing offenses was a lot of fun last year.

Clark got off to a slow start in his inaugural season as a Chief, but he rounded the corner and showed he was worth the trade and hefty price tag that came with acquiring him via Seattle.

Jones was a star right from the jump and will deserve whatever kind of contract he gets (even if it’s not from Kansas City). He’s been a bright spot on the Chiefs defense even when they were bad and it was fun to see him finally get to shine on a good defense in 2019.

The rest of the list consisted of Jason Pierre-Paul and Shaquill Barrett of the Buccaneers, Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn of the Bears, Von Miller and Bradley Chubb of the Broncos, Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith of the Packers, Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram of the Chargers, and T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward of the Steelers.

It’s interesting to see two other AFC West teams make this list of scary pass rushers and that’s another reason the division will be better in 2020. Bosa and Ingram have been destroying offensive linemen and quarterbacks for a few years now and it’s no surprise to see them make this list.

Hopefully Chris Jones will spend the 2020 season with the Kansas City Chiefs so that he and Frank Clark can continue to build on what they’ve already established.
