KC Chiefs: Three reasons the offense will be even better in 2020
The KC Chiefs won Super Bowl LIV behind their explosive, unstoppable offense. Well, I’ve got bad news for the rest of the league, as the offense is going to be even better in 2020! Here are three reasons as to why.
The Kansas City Chiefs finished the 2019 season as the fifth best offense in the league behind the Ravens, 49ers, Bucs, and Saints yet managed to beat the second ranked offense in the Super Bowl. Being the top offense isn’t the end all be all for teams each season, but it certainly helps to have an offense that’s explosive and can score at any given moment.
Let’s take a look at why the Chiefs’ offense will be even more of a force to be reckoned with in 2019.
EVEN BETTER KC CHIEFS OFFENSE – NUMBER 3: EVERYONE’S COMING BACK
The Chiefs didn’t lose any key playmakers on the offensive side of the ball this offseason. There was some chatter they could lose both Demarcus Robinson and Sammy Watkins, but both ended up returning to Kansas City for at least one more year.
Robinson didn’t get the attention on the free agent market that many thought he would get and Watkins wasn’t released due to financial reasons. While Tyreek Hill is the WR1, Watkins and Robinson had their moments in 2018 and are definitely a big part in this offense.
Throw in that 2019 Chiefs Rookie of the Year Mecole Hardman has a full year of NFL play under his belt and this offense is looking even more deadly. Hardman was used more in a special teams role as a rookie, but he did have flashes of potential on offense.
Oh and obviously Travis Kelce is returning, giving the Chiefs one of their best weapons back for another year. The run game didn’t lose anyone and gained a big time playmaker and that leads me to our next point…
