Chiefs news involves the Kansas City Chiefs having a new song that will play when the team scores a touchdown. It’s become a tradition for the Chiefs to have a new celebration song every season in recent years.

This isn’t necessarily planned, but rather that Kansas City Chiefs fans haven’t really taken to a particular song since “Rock’N’Roll Part 2” no longer played after a touchdown. The organization decided not to continue using that song, as Gary Glitter is in jail and they don’t want to pay him royalties.

A few years ago, the Chiefs let fans pick between three songs to replace the original, but the winner (Hey, Kansas City!) never caught on. It’s been a frantic search to find the new celebration song ever since.

The newest pick – “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (to Party)” – makes total sense, as it’s the song Travis Kelce screamed on the stage at the conclusion of the AFC Championship Game. Of course, he made it “You gotta fight for your right to Lombardi” rather than the traditional lyrics. Kelce also screamed this during the Chiefs Championship parade while on stage.

"So are the Mahomes to Jordan comparisons premature, ahead of the curve, spot-on or entirely off-base? There’s an argument to be made for all four viewpoints, but it really depends on how you want to go about comparing the two star athletes."

Kelce made the song famous in Kansas City during the Super Bowl and it only makes sense that this should be the celebration song throughout the course of the Chiefs’ “Run it Back” tour. It’ll put a smile on fans’ faces because it’ll remind us of that moment when Kelce shouted those lyrics on the stage.

Finding the right touchdown song has been a challenge, but this was a good pick by the Kansas City Chiefs. It ties into what this team accomplished last season and while it might not be the celebration song years down the road, it’s a great pick for the 2020 season.
