Now that the draft is over, the KC Chiefs have quite a few new rookies both that were drafted and signed as undrafted free agents who will be fighting for roster positions this offseason.

Most of the time, Kansas City Chiefs fans know a little bit about the drafted prospects, or at least can find out some information on them pretty easily. As for the UDFAs though, there is typically more of an unknown with them and for some UDFAs, it is hard to get to know them.

Luckily for fans of Chiefs Kingdom, I have some dug up some of this information for you so that you can get to know the Chiefs’ new UDFAs all in one spot. Some of these guys were pretty difficult to find information on so for those players we will have to learn as we go, but here’s at least a start to learning a little more about the new Chiefs.

Darryl Williams, C/G Mississippi St

Williams is a 6’2 304-pound lineman who was a three-year starter at Mississippi State. He doesn’t have any of the athletic traits that will blow you away, which is why he ended up being undrafted, but he uses his strength and grit to just gets the job done.

He was the second-rated interior lineman available post-draft and gives the Chiefs some much-needed depth at one of the weaker parts of their offensive line. He is one of the UDFAs most likely to make the Chiefs roster this season and should at least have a practice squad spot on lock.

Yasir Durant, OT Mizzou

Durant is a big lineman standing at 6’6 and 331 pounds this was a guy who almost for certain would be drafted, but as it played out he ended up being the best available tackle post-draft and the Chiefs jumped on that opportunity and brought him in.

Durant may be the most likely to make the 55-man roster just ahead of Darryl Williams, especially if he can slide inside and play guard next season. Durant thrives in pass protection and could be a short term solution at guard or a long-term option at tackle.

Javaris Davis, CB Auburn

Davis is a little undersized at 5’8 183 pounds, but has NFL speed that will hopefully offset some of his size concerns. He ran a 4.39 40 and that speed definitely translated on the field at Auburn as well. He had success against some big, talented SEC wide receivers last season.

Davis was the top available corner after the draft and was projected to be a fifth-round pick by Lance Zierlein. The Chiefs used their last two draft picks on cornerbacks, so he has some competition coming in, but he could benefit from Bashaud Breeland‘s off the field questions and turn that into an early-season roster spot.
