NUMBER 2 – HENRY RUGGS III (RAIDERS WIDE RECEIVER)

2. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. Henry Ruggs III. 28. Scouting Report. Alabama. player

You know what’s funny? There was buzz that the KC Chiefs were considering trading up for Henry Ruggs III if he were still on the board in the 20s. The Las Vegas Raiders heard that and when they got on the clock at pick 12 thought “Yeah, that isn’t happening” and took Ruggs even though he wasn’t the best receiver on the board there.

Many have said this was an Al Davis type of move and they’re right. Ruggs is blazing fast and is going to give defenses nightmares. He had 40 receptions for 746 yards and seven touchdowns for the loaded Alabama offense last year and he did all of that despite not being the best talent on the team.

Ruggs will be the guy in Vegas and if Derek Carr can figure out how to throw the ball further than five yards (big if, I know), then Ruggs could become someone who Chiefs fans truly despise.

NUMBER 1 – JERRY JEUDY (BRONCOS WIDE RECEIVER)

Yup, back to back Alabama wide receivers make up the top two on this list and does that really surprise anyone? If you clicked on this link and didn’t know it was going to be these two, then I don’t know what else to tell you.

The Broncos lucked into landing Jerry Jeudy, who had been linked to both the Jets and the Raiders throughout the mock draft season. With the Jets going offensive line and the Raiders – as mentioned above – taking Ruggs, that paved the way for Denver to grab Jeudy here.

Jeudy was the star receiver at Alabama, especially last year, as he hauled in 77 receptions for 1,163 yards and ten touchdowns. He’ll be the second guy on the depth chart behind Courtland Sutton and as much as I hate the Denver Broncos, I have to give them credit here for trying to match what the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense has become.
