CHIEFS VS BRONCOS – MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

I debated throwing this in the Sunday night group since I only had the Chiefs getting one Sunday night game at home (and even then – it’ll probably be on a Thursday), but instead I’m giving KC two Monday night home games.

To be perfectly honest, the Chiefs’ home schedule really isn’t that intimidating with the Texans and the Broncos being the two “toughest” teams they have. I’m not sold on Denver the way everyone else is this offseason, as a lot of people are crowning them the winners of the draft because they basically added players who MIGHT be able to outscore KC. Might being the keyword there.

Even still, the league is going to hear this buzz and make at least one of the Chiefs’ games with the Broncos a primetime affair and in this case, it’ll land on Monday night. The Broncos made it a point to improve on offense in the draft, but will they be able to keep up with the Chiefs? Also – Will their defense be able to stop Travis Kelce? That’s something they’ve struggled with for the past five years.

CHIEFS VS PATRIOTS – MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Again, Kansas City doesn’t have a lot of “WOW WHAT A GREAT GAME!” opponents for the home portion of their schedule. As a result, they get the Patriots on Monday Night Football in 2020.

Now, had Tom Brady not departed for Tampa Bay (another team on KC’s schedule), this would have been my pick to open the season because it’d have been funny to watch New England on the other side of a banner being raised. But, since Brady is a Buc and the Patriots seem convinced that Jarrett Stidham is the answer, it’s one of my two Monday night predictions for the Chiefs.

This one might not be all that riveting, but Bill Belichick is a great head coach and if anyone can make something out of nothing, it’d be him. Plus – It’d be fun to watch the KC Chiefs beat up on the Patriots in primetime, wouldn’t it?
