Chiefs news consists of the team adding a wealth of new talent on both sides of the ball through the 2020 NFL Draft. Some of these rookies will see the field right away and others might have to battle for their spot on the roster.

The newest members of the Kansas City Chiefs might have a chance to make an immediate impact while, like I mentioned in the intro, others will have to fight like heck to make it onto the roster and continue their careers in Kansas City.

Let’s take a look at each member of the 2020 NFL Draft class and what their role might be for the Chiefs in 2020 and beyond.

CLYDE EDWARDS-HELAIRE, RB – LSU (ROUND 1, PICK 22)

Don’t let his short stature fool you, Clyde Edwards-Helaire promises to have an immediate impact in the running game. Rushing for 1,415 yards and 16 touchdowns in his National Title run and perfect season of 2019 with LSU, Edwards-Helaire be used as an every down back.

Edwards-Helaire is deceptively fast, makes tacklers miss in a phone booth  and has a propensity for catching balls out of the back field, making him not only a stellar running back, but a viable receiver as well.

With his experience and his performance throughout the 2019 postseason, Damien Williams will remain the Chiefs premier running back, but the space behind him is up for grabs. Edwards-Helaire will have to battle for the RB2 job and that will be between him, Darrel Williams, and Darwin Thompson.

Edwards-Helaire has a better than good chance to become the second running back, right behind Williams because let’s be honest here – The Chiefs didn’t draft the LSU tackle evader to have him warm the bench week after week. No, CEH is going to play and he’s going to be effective the Chiefs offense.
