KC Chiefs news is all about the 2020 NFL Draft and how the Kansas City Chiefs drafted six new players to play for the Super Bowl champion Chiefs in 2020 and beyond.

The 2020 NFL Draft is the talk of the town and why wouldn’t it be? The sports world has gone silent in the last month and a half and the draft was a nice distraction from everything going on in the world.

The Kansas City Chiefs started the 2020 NFL Draft with five picks, but ended the weekend grabbing six total players. They traded into the seventh round (in exchange for a sixth round pick) and were able to add one more guy to their 2020 draft class.

Here’s the 2020 Kansas City Chiefs draft class:

The Chiefs clearly went after versatile players who they felt they could move around on the field. Edwards-Helaire will be used as a running back obviously, but he can also be used in the receiving game, indicated by his 55 receptions last year at LSU.

Gay is a freak of an athlete and can play both linebacker and maybe even be slotted in at safety. He’ll be the side-to-side linebacker that Kansas City has been longing for since Derrick Johnson left. Niang might not be in his preferred spot of tackle right off the bat, but he might get a crack at either left guard or center.

Sneed played cornerback for three years before switching to safety in his final year at Louisiana Tech. The Chiefs will likely ask him to play press corner. Danna is definitely a developmental piece and probably won’t see anything more than a few snaps each game his first few years. Keyes won’t be a starter – at least not right away – but trading up to nab him was a great move on the Chiefs’ part.

"The heightened competition should give fans confidence that whoever wins the job will be a good starter. Veach seems to have a well-thought out plan for Niang going into the offseason program and training camp."

None of us know how this draft class will pan out, but there’s optimism with this group and that’s a start.
