Denver Broncos: Cornerback

While the Chargers should be looking for their quarterback of the future, Denver may already have theirs. The jury is still out on Drew Lock, but he showed promise and flashes of his big arm last season.

Lock took over for Denver late in 2019, and posted a 4-1 record in that span. His only loss was to the Chiefs, so respectable for the rookie. Denver may not be loaded in talent like the Chargers, but they do have some nice players on the roster already.

Von Miller, Bradley Chubb, Jurrell Casey, Melvin Gordon, Courtland Sutton, and Noah Fant are very good players at their respective positions. Denver also boasts maybe the most underrated safety duo in the league with Kareem Jackson and Justin Simmons.

While Denver has other holes to fill, most notably offensive line, corner looks like a good place to start when you have to think about playing Kansas City’s weapons multiple times a year.

A hole has been left in the secondary by the departure of Chris Harris Jr. to the division rival Chargers, and the Broncos are in prime position to grab a top corner in this year’s draft. Wide receiver was also tempting here, but this is a deep wide receiver class.

Denver should nab the top cover guy on their board and try to start building a secondary that can go along with what looks to be a good pass rush.
