DAY THREE PROSPECTS

The third and final day of the draft is probably the likeliest spot for the Chiefs as far as drafting a running back goes. There will still be tons on the board in rounds four through seven, so the Chiefs could have plenty of targets at the position for the final four rounds of the draft.

As of now, KC only has a fourth and fifth round selection, but don’t put it past them to add picks throughout, potentially extending themselves into the sixth and/or seventh rounds. If they do decide to go after a running back on the final day of the 2020 NFL Draft, here are some players they should look into.

AJ Dillon ran all over the Kansas Jayhawks when his Boston College squad faced KU early in the 2019 season. Dillon rushed for at least 1,100 yards in each of his three seasons with the Eagles, but he’s not known for his receiving skills so that’s a knock on him.

Michael Warren II is the best pass catcher out of any of these three, grabbing 21 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns in his final season with the Bearcats. He did that while also rushing for 1,265 yards and 14 touchdowns. The season prior he had an astounding 19 rushing touchdowns to go along with 1,329 yards on the ground. He’d be a huge addition to this Chiefs backfield.

Joshua Kelley spent two years with UCLA and rushed for 1,000 yards in both seasons with the Bruins. He wasn’t as prolific as a catcher as Reid would probably like in his drafted running back, but potential is there with Kelley for sure.

There will be plenty of options in the final four rounds, but these are the players I’d like to see KC target later on in the draft.
