Kansas City Chiefs: 2020 NFL Draft Big Board 3.0
By Shade Piper
Fourth and Fifth Round Targets
As per the other two Chiefs Draft Big Boards, I am combining the last two picks as late-round targets. Technically they are middle-round targets, but as the Chiefs last two picks, they feel like late-round targets. Nevertheless, there should still be good value at the Chiefs’ final two picks.
1. Yasir Durant, G/T Mizzou
This is a guy I’ve loved from the jump (mostly due to Mizzou homerism). He is a big lineman with positional versatility. He is a guy I view as a depth piece in the short-term while he learns under Mitchell Schwartz and Eric Fisher as a potential future starting tackle. He’s another high-upside lineman that should be available in the middle rounds.
2. Kenny Robinson, S St. Louis BattleHawks
Robinson was set to be one of the better safeties in college football last season before deciding to join the XFL. In the XFL, he played with new Chiefs backup quarterback Jordan Ta’amu with the BattleHawks and was able to grab two picks in five games.
By now you know I’m all aboard the safety train in this year’s draft. If the three biggest needs of cornerback, linebacker, and interior offensive line have all been addressed, I am all for taking Robinson for the same reasons I would be interested in Delpit or Winfield.
3. Darrynton Evans, RB Appalachian State
Evans is a tremendous value at the running back position in the fourth or fifth round. If given the choice of Evans in the fourth or Edwards-Helaire in the second, I’d take Evans in a heartbeat. He has the speed that the Chiefs love in their offense, he is bigger than Edwards-Helaire, and while not as proven he has the upside to be a pass-catcher as well.
4. Julian Blackmon, S Utah
Another safety here. I have been mocking Blackmon as my last pick in almost every single one of my mock drafts. He is a former corner turned safety who could be a great Kendall Fuller replacement in Kansas City. He has great size and speed, but the versatility is what would give him the most value to the Chiefs.
5. Keith Ismael, G/C San Diego St
I can thank the KC Draft Guide for this prospect. If you haven’t checked it out yet you need to before the draft gets here. This guy was not on my radar at all, but now he seems like a tremendous value for a guy that will probably be there in the fifth round. Positional versatility with good mobility are traits that could make Ismael a mid-round steal.
Other Guys to Consider if they make it to Round Four: Reggie Robinson, CB Tulsa; Hakeem Adeniji, G/T Kansas
Recap
The draft is just days away and I cannot wait. Here is to hoping that Veach makes a few of the guys listed in this big board a Kansas City Chief by the end of the week. Go Chiefs!
