KC Royals news includes Fox Sports Kansas City airing the magical run to the American League pennant in 2014. The marathon begins Monday evening at 7:00PM central time.

The 2014 postseason run was one of the most fun experiences ever for Kansas City Royals fans. Many of us hadn’t been alive when the Royals had lost made it to – and won – a World Series, which was in 1985.

So when the final out was made against the White Sox in late September that clinched a Wild Card berth for the Royals, Kansas City partied hard. Little did we all know how long we’d be partying for, as the Royals went from Wild Card wonders to winners of the 2014 American League pennant.

As we all know, the Royals made it to Game 7 of the World Series only to lose to the San Francisco Giants. It was a tough loss, but when the smoke had cleared, many knew that 2014 season would always hold a special place in our hearts.

Fortunately the next year the Royals went back to the World Series and won it this time, giving us the right ending this time around. While winning the title was awesome, that 2014 run was still my favorite because it was the first time any of us had experienced it.

The World Series games won’t be aired, but that’s okay because the first eight games leading up to the World Series were honestly the best part of the run.

"Furthermore, if there is a season in 2020, Gordon wouldn’t even get to play what might be his final season in front of Royals fans. Games would likely be played in Arizona and Florida, so Kansas City natives wouldn’t even get to watch Gordon’s final at bat with the Royals."

Times are tough right now as we all hunker down at home, but this marathon can bring us some excitement over the next two weeks and remind us of when things get back to normal, what we can potentially look forward to.

Maybe the Kansas City Royals won’t be getting back to the World Series anytime soon, but having baseball back will suffice.
