2020 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft

Round 1: Pick 13 – San Francisco 49ers (Via Indianapolis) (John McCarty)

13. player. 42. . Cornerback. San Francisco 49ers. C.J. Henderson

Two position groups costs the Niners the Super Bowl, none greater than the corners and their inability to slow down Chiefs receivers. C.J. Henderson is a quality cover guy with the room to add weight and refine technique.

Staff Reaction: The defending NFC Champions have several areas to address with their two first-round picks, and it works out well for San Francisco that the second best corner in the draft falls this far. Henderson is a solid pick as he injects youth into a somewhat aging secondary. – Cullen Jekel

Round 1: Pick 14 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Cullen Jekel)

Offensive Tackle. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jedrick Willis. 14. player. 48.

Wow, this would be a dream scenario for the Bucs, a team looking to shore up its offensive line to protect its new – yet elderly – quarterback Tom Brady. Alabama’s Jedrick Wills Jr. is ranked as the No. 1 or 2 offensive tackle by several draft publications, including The Draft Network, The Ringer, and CBS Sports.

Him falling all the way to pick number 14 seems unlikely, but if that happens, the brass in Tampa Bay won’t think twice about calling his name.

Staff Reaction: Solid pick for the Bucs, who have to go with an offensive tackle in the first round. If Brady doesn’t have protection, things won’t go well in Tampa, so Jedrick Willis is an excellent choice at pick 14. – Leigh Oleszczak

Round 1: Pick 15 – Denver Broncos (Kole Berrey)

45. . Wide Receiver. Denver Broncos. Henry Ruggs III. 15. player

The Broncos have a few bigger holes than receiver, but Henry Ruggs III is too tantalizing to pass up. Denver now has a rocket arm thrower of the football in Drew Lock, and they also have to see Tyreek Hill wreck them year in and year out. They decide to get some elite speed of their own and hope the Ruggs-Lock duo can come to rival that of Mahomes-Hill.

Staff Reaction: If Jeudy to the Jets is beginnning to feel likely, Ruggs to Denver is feeling almost certain. There is enough smoke between player and prospect that it would be a surprise if it doesn’t happen. The Broncos get a speed threat and Drew Lock throws a good deep ball. Makes sense. – John McCarty

Round 1: Pick 16 – Atlanta Falcons (Leigh Oleszczak)

Javon Kinlaw. 16. player. 44. . Defensive Tackle. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons were fortunate to see their favorite prospect fall to them at pick 16. Javon Kinlaw makes perfect sense in Atlanta, as their defense was a disaster last year and he’ll be a starter from day one. Kinlaw should do wonders in slowing down quarterbacks and offenses in the NFC South.

Staff Reaction: There is some draft day smoke that the Falcons may want to move up to make sure they get to draft Javon Kinlaw. In this mock, they don’t have to as the South Carolina prospect falls to them. Good pick for Atlanta. Fills a team need and Kinlaw has potential to pair with Grady Jarrett to form an elite duo on the defensive front. – Kole Berrey
