2020 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom First Round Mock Draft
2020 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft
Round 1: Pick 9 – Jacksonville Jaguars (Leigh Oleszczak)
With two picks in the first round, the Jaguars can be a little more flexible with their selections. They grab the best remaining player with K’Lavon Chaisson, who can provide them with an elite run defender and after some developmental time, should also be a tremendous pass rusher. It wasn’t long ago when the Jaguars had the best defense in the league and they look to get back to that point with this pick.
Staff Reaction: Selecting Chaisson will make even more sense if the Jags decide to finally part ways with Yannick Ngakoue. Regardless, he’s another pass rusher for a team that’s fallen off the cliff the past several seasons. – Cullen Jekel
Round 1: Pick 10 – Cleveland Browns (John McCarty)
Perhaps the safest left tackle in the first round, Andrew Thomas was the top tackle prospect entering the 2019 season. Thomas may not be elite, but he’s plug and play ready and provides the Browns a combination of safety with production.
Staff Reaction: The Browns HAD to draft an offensive lineman with their first round pick and they get a good one here in Thomas, who will pair well with free agent addition Jack Conklin. – Leigh Oleszczak
Round 1: Pick 11 – New York Jets (Kole Berrey)
Jerry Jeudy is my favorite receiver prospect in this draft, and it is high time Sam Darnold gets an actual receiving weapon in this offense. A true number one could go a long way in unlocking his full potential.
Jeudy is a polished receiver who could step on the field day one and be the best wideout on the team. That is if Adam Gase doesn’t ruin him, of course.
Staff Reaction: There are certain picks that feel either locked into a player or, at minimum, a position. Jeudy and the Jets feels like it’s going to happen, so no surprise here. The Jets lost Robby Anderson in free agency and look for his replacement here. Jeudy is a solid receiver. – John McCarty
Round 1: Pick 12 – Las Vegas Raiders (Cullen Jekel)
The Raiders seemed to have signaled that they’re going into 2020 with veteran quarterbacks, as they hung on to Derek Carr and added former number two pick Marcus Mariota, who was let go by the Titans. Whoever ends up being the starter will need more weapons, especially at wide receiver, where Hunter Renfrow led the position in catches last season with just 49.
Enter CeeDee Lamb, arguably the best wide receiver in a deep class of them. At 6’2″ and 198 pounds,, he’ll give opposing defenses fits from day one while opening up the Raiders offense.
Staff Reaction: Love this pick for the Raiders. With Jeudy off the board, it came down to Ruggs or Lamb. The old Raiders may have went with Ruggs based purely off speed, but honestly they probably couldn’t have gone wrong with either player. Lamb offers a new toy for head coach Jon Gruden to tinker with in a Raiders offense with some real talent. – Kole Berrey
